John Brotherton's Bio

John Brotherton first aired as Jared Banks on August 21, 2007, which is also his birthday.

Mr. Brotherton is a Pacific Northwest native, growing up in Portland, OR and Seattle, WA. He graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in business. His involvement in theater
started at age ten as a hobby, and continued on and off through college. Entering his senior year, with real life bearing down and the reality of corporate America knocking at his door,
Mr. Brotherton realized his passion and love for acting should translate into his career.

After graduation, Mr. Brotherton packed his car and headed to Los Angeles. He lived there for
four years, working odd jobs as well as acting jobs. In the summer of 2007, an audition led to a screen test in New York for the role of Jared Banks. He landed the part and had five days to pack
up his life and move across the country.

Prior to booking OLTL, Mr. Brotherton expanded his involvement in the entertainment world by
writing, producing, directing and starring in his first film, Smith & Mike on a Tuesday. The film
has found much success on the festival circuit.

Mr. Brotherton currently resides in New York City with his fiancée, Alison. They met in acting
class, became good friends and then inevitably fell in love. The teacher of that class is marrying
the couple in the summer of 2008.

Mr. Brotherton credits his mother as his biggest support and source of wisdom, in all aspects
of his life.
