Monica's Bio

Monica, who resides in Fort Smith, Arkansas, met her fiancé and Race partner, Joseph, during college at a local bar in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Independent and tenacious, Monica says she and Joseph share a love of country music, wakeboarding and traveling. Since graduating, Monica has been selling real estate.
 
Although Monica's primary motivation for being on the Race was to pay off her student loans, she was also eager to take part in an experience that would help create a special life-long with Joseph.
 
A big fan of the Race, Monica thought it would be the coolest reality show on which to appear. In their application video, Monica was very energetic and did a "MoJo cheer" in which she was being goofy and made self-deprecating.
 
While her travel experience was limited to Mexico and Barbados, Monica was well-prepared for the physical aspects of the Race because she is "a work out freak." With regard to what to pack, Monica said they re-watched every episode of the Race to get a sense of what they would need and what would be useful. Monica really wanted the Race to take her to Greece and was ecstatic when it did just that.

Monica felt that, over the course of the Race, she really developed a sense of pride and accomplishment thanks to the fact that she hung in there with the boys. She skydived and bungee jumped without thinking twice.
 
As for friends she made along the way, Monica said "We'll always be friends with Eric and Jeremy and Fran and Barry-everybody. To be honest, even Lake and Michelle. We still talk to them. And those will be the people that we'll probably invite to our wedding one day, and just go see them in their home towns, and always have this connection through them for the rest of our lives. So it's really neat."
