Robert's Bio
Robert Thomas Pattinson, also commonly known as Rob, (or Rpattz
as fans call him) was born on May 13, 1986 in London, England. He is the
youngest out of three children - he has two sisters, Lizzy and Victoria.
At the age of 15, Robert joined the Barnes Theatre Company after spotting a
group of girls from there. Robert started out backstage, before acting in plays
such as 'Macbeth' and 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' where he was discovered by an
agent. He landed his first film role as Giselher in Ring of the Nibelungs and
also moved on to play the older Rawdy Crawley in Vanity Fair (his scenes were
later cut and only shown on the DVD). In 2003, Robert landed the role he is most
known for, as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. After Harry
Potter and the Goblet of Fire premiered in 2005, Robert moved onto play Toby
Jugg in The Haunted Airman and Daniel Gale in The Bad Mother's Handbook, both of
which were made for TV movies. Up next came the roles of Richard in The Summer
House, Art in How To Be, and Salvador Dali in Little Ashes. In 2008, Robert was
announced as the casting choice for Edward Cullen, in the highly anticipated
movie Twilight, based on the popular book series. Along with being cast in the
movie, Robert also got the chance to record two tracks for the film's
soundtrack, Never Think and Let Me Sign.
Robert won two awards in 2008 - the New Hollywood Award, and the Best Actor
Award at the Strasbourg Film Festival for his role as Art in How To Be.
In late 2008, Robert was announced to continue his role as Edward Cullen in New
Moon, the sequel to Twilight, after Twilight became a box office hit.
